Ritah Nakandi

Rita Nakandi is the Founder / Owner of Afri-root Collective, a socially responsible business that markets and distributes handicrafts made by female, Ugandan Artisans. Born in Uganda, Ritah moved to the U.S. in 2008 for graduate studies, MA of Pastoral Studies at Boston College, and in 2013 graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Management from Cambridge College. Ritah has extensive experience working in organizations that empower women to run their small businesses by educating them about finances, and giving them access to micro-finance institutions. Presently, Ritah works with women collectives in Uganda and uses sales proceeds to train them in the art of handicraft-making, and distributes their unique products to international markets. Rita is also a Co-founder / COO of MeetCaregivers based in Newton, an innovative online marketplace for Senior care that intelligently matches seniors with perfectly qualified caregivers and offers additional services, products, and technology tools for senior care.
