In Loving Memory of Chobee Hoy

August 5, 1932 - January 13, 2024

Chobee was a broker for the Chobee Hoy Group of Compass Real Estate and an active community member for many years. She served on several Brookline non-profit boards, including the Coolidge Corner Theater, the Brookline Teen Center, and the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health. She serve on the Women Thriving Access and Information Sharing and the Healthy Food and Lifestyle Working Groups, as well as the Fundraising Group, and was an active voice and participant since Thriving’s 2014 beginning. She has been Thriving's backbone, crucial to the success of the organization. Her interest and generosity made many projects possible throughout the years. Her creativity in coming up with projects that benefited low-income women was remarkable. She has always had an eye for art and gave all that she had to this organization and many others across Brookline. She was behind the scenes reaching out to funders and friends for fundraising events that she held at her former Real Estate office in Brookline Village. She often used her own money to pay for newspaper ads. The list is never-ending.

Chobee's compassionate nature was evident in all that she did for Women Thriving. She will be sorely missed.
